Suffolk Coast offers free support for local tourism

Leading tourism organisation, The Suffolk Coast, has launched a new initiative to support tourism businesses in East Suffolk.

The initiative – which offers expert advice and promotional opportunities to local tourism and hospitality businesses – is launching a free membership tier.

The free membership has been made possible through the Sizewell C Tourism Fund.

Businesses from Felixstowe to Lowestoft and Beccles to Woodbridge are encouraged to sign-up to gain free listings on their website.

The Suffolk Coast’s website receives over one million users a year, making it one of the region’s most popular visitor websites.

Tourism remains one of East Suffolk’s most valuable industries, contributing millions to the local economy and sustaining thousands of jobs.

But rising costs, changing visitor habits and intensifying competition are placing pressure on many small and independent businesses.

In response, The Suffolk Coast can now offer businesses of all sizes the chance to benefit from their expert support, resources and promotional opportunities.

Director Julian Evans said: “We know how challenging it is for local businesses right now. Our new free membership ensures that every business – big or small – can benefit from being part of a promotional organisation.

“By working together, we can strengthen Suffolk’s tourism offering and help more visitors discover what makes this coastline truly special.”

To celebrate the launch, The Suffolk Coast is hosting a programme of networking events ‘Suffolk Coast Socials’. The events will give businesses the chance to meet the team, learn more about the new membership options and connect with others in the sector.

Manager Jess Brown added: “The Suffolk Coast is home to a passionate and thriving tourism community. Thanks to the new membership scheme and social events, all tourism businesses can benefit from the support on offer.

“The events will provide a fantastic opportunity to network, exchange ideas and explore how we can collectively promote and support our beautiful region.”
