Micro-businesses in Suffolk looking to take practical steps towards becoming more sustainable can currently access a 50% discount on membership of the award-winning Carbon Charter.
The initiative is designed to support businesses at different stages of their sustainability journey – from those taking their first steps to organisations already working to reduce their environmental impact.
Delivered by Groundwork East and overseen by the Environment Agency and Suffolk County Council, the Carbon Charter provides businesses with practical support and guidance on reducing waste, improving efficiency and saving money. The team help businesses develop a clear action plan, alongside an externally assured carbon footprint to help them understand their environmental impact. Achieving gold, silver or bronze Charter status can also help businesses demonstrate their commitment to social value to customers, clients and suppliers.
Members gain access to expert support, training, funding updates and local networking opportunities, providing opportunities to learn from other organisations and make connections across Suffolk’s business community.
Since its launch, more than 1,000 Charters have been awarded across a range of sectors including food & drink, finance, hospitality, print and transport. See the full member directory here.
For micro-businesses that may not have the time or resources to navigate sustainability alone, membership offers a structured way to understand their current position, identify opportunities for improvement and demonstrate progress.
