Applications open for energy industry awards

Nominations are invited for the east of England’s gala celebration of its thriving energy industry.

Organised by the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), the End of Year Awards 2024 will take place at Dunston Hall, near Norwich, on Tuesday December 5, in what is planned to be the biggest and best ceremony yet.

This year, 10 awards will be presented recognising the outstanding businesses, individuals, innovation and inventions, products and services that make the east of England a national and international energy leader.

Three new awards have also been introduced:

  • Apprentice Employer of the Year
  • Positive Impact in the Community, and
  • STEM Educator of the Year.

Organisers expect the event to be a sell-out like 2023 – a reflection of the number and quality of anticipated entries.

Submissions are welcomed from EEEGR members and non-members, and from all energy technologies across the sector.

EEEGR chair Kevin Keable says, “The east of England energy sector is a beacon of brilliance across all sectors. It is full of companies inventing, innovating, adapting, and finding game-changing solutions to industry challenges.

“Inside those businesses are people so inspiring and ingenious for the difference they make at work, who deserve special recognition.

“The beauty of our awards is that they offer the chance to those businesses and people to be highlighted to their peers and colleagues and be publicly acknowledged for the tremendous work they do to push the industry forward, and for going above and beyond to make change.

“I’m proud to be opening nominations and looking forward to reading entries as they come in.”

CeraPhi Energy won last year’s One to Watch Winner, and CEO Karl Farrow said, “We were thrilled to receive the EEEGR Innovation Award in 2022, recognising CeraPhiWell™ as the industry’s standout technology.

The award marked a pivotal moment for CeraPhi Energy, 2023 was the year we embarked on groundbreaking projects.

“The recognition not only celebrated our achievements but also signalled our commitment to pushing the boundaries of geothermal energy solutions and validated our position at the forefront of geothermal innovation.”

All entries must be received by Thursday, October 31, and all awards (apart from the EEEGR Member of the Year, which is chosen by the EEEGR team) are open to members and non-members.
