Against a backdrop of growing regulatory and market pressures, Fisher Jones Greenwood has strengthened its team of experts to deliver the commercially focused legal support businesses need to succeed.
Early in 2026, Fisher Jones Greenwood (FJG), a leading regional law firm and proud member of Lawfront, expanded its Corporate and Commercial team.
The move came in response to businesses – faced with increasing regulatory complexity alongside challenging market conditions – driving demand for clear, commercially grounded legal advice.
With offices across Essex and Suffolk, FJG provides legal advice to businesses at every stage of their lifecycle, from start-ups and early-stage ventures to established businesses pursuing growth, investment and exit strategies.
The Corporate and Commercial team handles a broad spectrum of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, business structuring and commercial contracts – helping clients navigate complexity with confidence and clarity.
FJG’s investment in both new and emerging talent, alongside its experienced leadership built over more than 40 years, is enhancing the firm’s ability to support clients with high-quality, commercially focused legal advice that keeps pace with a changing business environment.
“Our continued investment in people and the services we deliver reflects both the strength of our strategic direction and our long-term commitment to growth,” says Ashton Carter, FJG’s Partner and Head of Corporate and Commercial. “It underlines our culture, the breadth and quality of our work, and our ambition to support clients across the region as they grow and evolve.
“The quality of work we are delivering across transactions, restructures and commercial advisory matters, combined with the ambition and collaboration we’ve built within our Corporate and Commercial team, continues to attract talented lawyers who want to be part of a growing and forward-thinking practice.”
Natasha Bhandari joined FJG in February 2026 as a Senior Associate in the Corporate and Commercial team, having worked closely with entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses and larger organisations on the transactions and structures that underpin their growth.
“Whether it’s an acquisition, a restructure or preparing for exit, the focus is always on delivering advice that is both commercially aligned and legally robust,” she says. “Increasingly, we’re also supporting clients on the funding arrangements that enable growth, as well as helping them navigate governance and structural considerations across the full lifecycle of their business.”
FJG’s approach is illustrated by the firm’s recent role advising on the sale of Grape Passions Limited, an independent wine merchant based in Witham, Essex, to Norfolk-based Peter Graham Wines, an established independent wine specialist that has served the East Anglia region for more than 25 years.
The transaction brought together two established wine businesses and marked a significant milestone for the sellers, who had spent years building a respected brand within the hospitality sector.
The transaction was led by Ashton Carter, who guided the clients through each stage of the process, ensuring they were fully informed of both the legal and commercial considerations shaping their decisions.
“Selling a business is both exciting and stressful,” say Grape Passions’ founders, wine enthusiasts Mark and Kay Soudah who set up their business in 2005. “Having the right partners to support the process is absolutely crucial, and with our accountants, Barrons Corporate Finance, and legal advisers, Fisher Jones Greenwood, we struck gold.”
For clients, the real value lies not only in the specialist expertise and capability of the Corporate and Commercial team, but in its ability to draw on the wider strength of a full-service firm.
By working seamlessly with colleagues across disciplines, FJG provides joined-up, commercially aware advice that reflects the broader needs of each business – supporting growth, managing risk and enabling confident decision-making.
