BDO promotes more than 50 people across East Anglia

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has announced the promotion of more than 50 people across its team in East Anglia, including one promotion to partner.

Effective from 1st November, Piers Harrison has been promoted to partner in the firm’s audit and assurance team. Since joining the firm in 1993, Piers has built up a considerable client portfolio, spanning sectors such as technology, life sciences and manufacturing.

In 2021, Piers took over as head of the Cambridge office and will be responsible for leading the planned growth of this team over the next five years.

Commenting on his appointment, Piers said: “I’m delighted to have been promoted to partner during an exciting period of growth for BDO, particularly in the region.

“Having spent my entire career at BDO, it was a real honour earlier this year to take over the reins in Cambridge, as we look to build on the momentum achieved across East Anglia. I’m proud to be able to lead a high-performing team as we continue to offer quality audit services to our clients.”

In East Anglia, BDO has promoted 10 people in its Cambridge team, 44 in Ipswich, and five in Norwich, with 35 of these in its audit practice.

Lisa Blake, head of BDO in East Anglia, commented: “These promotions represent BDO’s commitment to investing in our people and the future of our business in the region and nationwide.

“The partner promotion process is rigorous but rewarding and Piers has demonstrated a clear focus on both technical excellence and audit quality to provide a high quality service to clients. Piers and all those who have been promoted should be incredibly proud of their achievements.”
