Children’s charity seeks corporate partners in Norfolk

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity is seeking businesses in Norfolk to support fundraising to establish a specialist nurse for local children living with the most complex medical conditions.

The charity is offering free Lunch and Learn sessions to any companies interested in finding out more.

It is described as an ideal opportunity for local businesses seeking a new charity partner or establishing a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The Lunch and Learn session will share details of the charity’s local work and explain how becoming a partner could elevate your CSR profile and allow you to make a tangible difference in the heart of the Norfolk community.

Once established, the new Roald Dahl Nurse will be based at Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital to care for local children with medical complexity (CMC).

These children have multiple devastating conditions, often rare or even undiagnosed, requiring specialist care from numerous consultants, hospitals and health professionals. Many of these children are unable to walk, talk or even eat, and many face a life-limiting diagnosis.

Louise Griew, Chief Executive of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity says, “We have over 30 years’ experience working with partners; they are the heart of our success and help us to raise much-needed funds and awareness.

“We know there is a powerful sense of community in Norfolk, and we hope that this will inspire regional businesses to support us in establishing a new Roald Dahl Nurse Specialist to care for seriously ill children in the area.

“Roald Dahl Nurses make such a huge impact       on patients’ lives, so we cannot wait to bring this support to the local families most in need of      this vital care.”

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity provides specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children across the UK. Currently, over 120 Roald Dahl Nurses are supporting over 33,000 seriously ill children across the country. However, there are thousands more children in need of this vital care, including children in Norfolk.

Roald Dahl Nurses are trained and dedicated specialists who help families by providing coordinated, dedicated and holistic care. Their support reduces the need for A&E visits, hospital admissions and consultant appointments, meaning more precious moments spent at home together as a family.
