Construction consultancy Daniel Connal Partnership is marking its 80th anniversary by completing 80 Acts of Good across the communities it serves in Norfolk, Essex and London.
The firm, which has offices in Norwich, Colchester and Spitalfields, London, will spend the year supporting charities, including fundraising for brain injury charity Headway, as well as mentoring young professionals, volunteering locally and backing grassroots initiatives under a single anniversary programme.
Rather than focusing purely on its history, DCP wants the milestone to reflect the kind of business it is today, and the values that continue to shape its future.
Robert Dale, Senior Partner at Daniel Connal Partnership, said: “Eighty years is something we’re incredibly proud of, but we didn’t want this to just be about looking back.
“We’ve always believed in going above and beyond, not just for our clients, but in the communities where we work. The 80 Acts of Good gives us a clear way to bring that to life throughout the year.
“The anniversary year will also honour the legacy of our former partner Bob Juniper, who was a trustee of Headway, and whose commitment to professional development and community involvement helped shape the values the firm continues to uphold today.”
Many of the acts will build on activity the firm already carries out. Teams have previously taken part in beach litter picks in Norfolk, practical improvement work for community organisations and environmental initiatives with local wildlife groups. All staff are given dedicated time each year to support charitable causes.
Founded in 1946, the firm provides building surveying, quantity surveying, project management and health and safety services to developers, local authorities, education providers and organisations managing large property portfolios.
Describing how the company has evolved, over the last 80 years, Robert added: “Our industry has changed hugely, particularly around regulation and building safety, and we’ve adapted our services to keep pace.
“For example, we are able to provide Principal Designer services under both the Building Safety Act and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. That means clients don’t have to appoint separate consultants, simplifying compliance and providing clearer accountability from the outset.
“What hasn’t changed is our focus on doing a good job and building trusted relationships. Reaching 80 years gives us confidence in the strength of our foundations and the opportunity to continue investing in our people, our clients and our communities.”
Further announcements linked to the anniversary year will follow in the coming months.
