Inspirational summer STEM outreach programme celebrates success.

Cambridge Science Centre are celebrating the successes of their summer PopUpScience roadshows at the Grand Arcade in Cambridge and Queensgate in Peterborough.

Reaching just under 20,000 parents and children, the two events provided hands-on exhibits, STEM-based shows, and activities to encourage families to explore many different aspects of science.

Mandy Curtis, Head of Exhibitions, Cambridge Science Centre said: “We were delighted to partner with both shopping arcades and bring our brand of STEM outreach to these very different spaces. Summer is an ideal time to offer new experiences for children and young people in a less academic setting where they can explore in their own time. Our unique programmes are designed to provide experimental and enrichment opportunities which encourage children to just have a go at science, technology, engineering, and maths in fun, open and inclusive settings.”

Mandy added: “However, we can only run these programmes through the support of the shopping centre teams, our Executive Council and on this occasion through the incredible support of weekly sponsors, who include Illumina, Source BioScience, Redgate, Cambridge Innovation Council, Citrix, and Perkins.”
