More than £3,000 raised for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) by Birketts colleagues so far

Birketts colleagues, family and friends have raised more than £3,000 for the firm’s chosen charity, EACH, after a burst of events and sponsored challenges across Birketts’ five offices.

The £3,000 will go to support hundreds of children and young people with life-threatening conditions in East Anglia, as well as their families; the money could fund as many as 15 memory box-making sessions for families, or 16 hours of art therapy to help families express their feelings and experiences.

Teams in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Ipswich, London and Norwich have risen to the occasion, donating and sponsoring colleagues for their baking, cooking and cycling since the partnership between Birketts and EACH was announced in January.

The firm is committed to raising the £35,100 annual salary of a Clinical Nurse Specialist through its fundraising efforts in 2021. EACH currently has 11 of these vital nurses working across the region, working closely with families to provide support for their children and to develop individual symptom management plans.

Grace Kerr, Partner and CSR Chair at Birketts, said: “It is a great achievement to have already raised more than £3,000 for EACH. I would like to thank every one of our donors so are for their support and for all the hard work of our colleagues to move closer to our target of £35,100.

The concerted effort of colleagues from every department in Birketts truly reflects our commitment to corporate social responsibility, and I have no doubt we will see even more of this charitable spirit in a packed summer of fundraising events. EACH is a vital cause in need of support in 2021; as England begins to ease out of lockdown and more fundraising can go ahead, it is so important we rally together in aid of a charity supporting children, young people and families at such a challenging time in their lives.”

Caroline Allen, EACH Corporate Fundraiser, said: “Grace, her CSR Team and Birketts have already done a phenomenal job and the money they have raised will make a difference to families across East Anglia.

EACH’s mission to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of every child and family under our care is only possible thanks to the charitable work of organisations like Birketts. I am confident the momentum generated by the fundraising events will only inspire others to get involved and donate throughout the rest of the year. Thank you to everyone who has taken the opportunity to support EACH.”
