Attleborough-based Macbrook Gas Ltd has delivered £12 million in sales for the year ending April 2024 – a fivefold increase on the previous year of 22/23.
Specialising in the provision of eco-friendly heating services, the company is looking to build on its recent growth in sales, and surge in demand for sustainable energy solutions, with a strategic expansion to becoming one of the largest renewable energy leaders in East Anglia.
Established in 2016, Macbrook employs more than 50 members of staff and worked on over 950 projects last year, including 660 solar PV installations.
A key part of its growth includes its ongoing contract with Cambridge City Council under the Action on Energy programme (Cambs HUG Project). This initiative, funded by the Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 (HUG2), supports retrofitting upgrades designed to improve energy efficiency. These efforts help homeowners reduce energy bills and make their homes easier to keep warm.
To accommodate its strong pipeline of work, the team of renewable energy experts has recently acquired commercial land to develop a new 10,000 sq. ft head office. Located by the Snetterton Racetrack business park, the new workplace is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Construction of the £1m development began at the start of November 2024.
Director John McKenna said: “Our journey over the past eight years has been nothing short of remarkable and we’re delighted to be expanding our services and personnel to build on our mission to provide low cost and sustainable heating for homes across East Anglia.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to invest in a new head office, which will give us scope for further growth of our core support team.
“With strong relationships, such as the one we have with Cambridge City Council, and the availability of funding for energy-inefficient homes, we are well-positioned to continue building on our reputation as a trusted partner in renewable energy solutions,”
“As we look to the future, we remain committed to investing in our team, expanding our reach, and advancing innovative energy solutions. It’s important we educate individuals and families on the benefits of renewables but also make people aware of the funding available to install energy efficient solutions, which in the long run bring down energy costs and ensure a more sustainable future.”
