Rogers & Norton’s Family Team Celebrates a year of Growth

Rogers & Norton Solicitors is celebrating the one-year anniversary of our new Family Law team, marking a period of exceptional growth and success for the department. Since its formation in late 2024, the team has expanded rapidly and continues to attract complex and high-value work across Norfolk, East Anglia and beyond.

The Family Department is led by Director and Head of Department, Ginny Colman, who joined Rogers & Norton in November 2024. With over 20 years’ experience and a reputation for handling high-value and complex cases, Ginny advises on matters involving pensions, trusts, tax and business assets, as well as relationship breakdowns and wealth protection, including cohabitation and pre- or post-nuptial agreements.

Ginny also supports clients in private child arrangement cases, offering pragmatic and empathetic advice in situations involving domestic abuse, coercive control and parental alienation. A qualified Collaborative Lawyer, Ginny encourages mediation and constructive resolution while maintaining a strong track record in court advocacy when required.

“I am delighted by what we’ve achieved in our first year,” said Ginny Colman. “The department has grown in both size and capability, allowing us to provide a truly comprehensive service to clients across Norfolk and beyond. I’m incredibly proud of the team’s professionalism, compassion and collaborative approach.”

The team has continued to grow and strengthen, bringing together a blend of experience, energy and specialist expertise. April Lyon joined the firm in September 2025, bringing with her a strong background in family law and contentious probate matters. Having qualified in 2020, April advises clients on all aspects of family law, as well as disputes relating to wills, trusts and estates, including cases involving undue influence, fraud, Inheritance Act claims and Chancery proceedings.

Olivia Waters has been part of Rogers & Norton’s Family Department for several years, having completed her training contract with the firm before qualifying as a Solicitor in July 2025. During her time at Rogers & Norton, Olivia has developed a particular passion for children law, advising clients on divorce, financial matters, cohabitation disputes and child arrangements. Her approachable manner and commitment to client care have made her a trusted member of the growing Family team.

Together, the team offers an impressive breadth of expertise covering every aspect of family and relationship law – from wealth protection and financial settlements to private children cases and inheritance disputes.

Supporting Families Across Norfolk and Beyond

Based at the firm’s Norwich office, the Family Department serves clients across Norfolk, East Anglia and London. The team’s combination of technical knowledge, approachable service and pragmatic advice has helped position Rogers & Norton as a trusted choice for families seeking expert, sensitive legal advice.

“Our focus has always been on achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients in our approachable manner,” says Ginny. “We’re proud to have built a department that reflects Rogers & Norton’s values – professional, practical, and people-focused we hope to continue to build on this foundation.”
