UK’s leading intelligence qualifications approved for military funding scheme

Serving and former members of the UK Armed Forces are now able to achieve both the Level 4 Diploma in Intelligence Operations and Level 6 Diploma in Intelligence Management, through the Ministry of Defence’s Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELC).

The ELC scheme promotes lifelong learning and provides military personnel the opportunity to achieve higher level qualifications that will enhance their current career, or future prospects outside of the Armed Forces.

Intqual-pro became an Approved Learning Provider in July 2019, after the MoD approved their leading vocational intelligence qualifications for the ELC scheme. The specialist training provider has been at the forefront of intelligence professionalisation in the UK for the last 5 years and is now able to offer military personnel the opportunity to achieve qualifications that formally recognise their skill set and chosen vocation.

The Level 4 Diploma in Intelligence Operations was launched in September 2014 and has since grown to become the UK’s most popular OFQUAL approved vocational qualification in Intelligence Analysis, delivered to roughly 1000 learners across the UK to date. The Level 4 focuses on influencing decision making through intelligence and offers a range of training packages across strategic, operational and investigative analytical techniques.

The Level 6 Diploma in Intelligence Management was developed following the unparalleled success of the Higher Diploma in Intelligence Operations. Specific to the requirements, considerations and risks associated with the Intelligence sector, the launch of the Level 6 Diploma ensures a clear route of progression into an Intelligence Management role. The Level 6 Diploma is also the UK’s first Level 6 qualification specific to Intelligence Managers, which can be achieved outside of a University setting.

To achieve these qualifications through ELC credits, members of the Armed Forces must be a registered scheme member and have accrued a sufficient amount of service. Serving military personnel can check their entitlement through their local education staff.

Former members of the Armed Forces can continue to claim ELC up to 5 years after leaving the service – those unsure of eligibility can contact the Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS) who will make the appropriate checks.
