Birketts advises East Anglian freight giant in £1m boost to region’s economy

Birketts has advised Norfolk-based Freightforce Distribution Limited (Freightforce) have completed the purchase of a new million-pound site in Great Yarmouth, bringing with it more business and jobs to the East of England.

Melissa Loucas, Partner and Head of Norwich’s Commercial Property Team led the Birketts team, with support from Partner and Head of Corporate Tax, Karl Pocock, Senior Associate Andrew Ridout (Commercial Property), Associate Rebecca Bond (Commercial Property), Senior Associate Steven Bell (Planning) and Solicitor Ben Clarke (Corporate Tax).

The new site, located on the North River Road Industrial Estate on the site of the former Great Yarmouth Eurocentre caravan facility, expands Freightforce’s footprint in the region. Demand for Freightforce’s services have rapidly increased in the last few years for storage as customers look for a complete logistics service, even in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and Brexit. The purchase will also strengthen the businesses own national distribution network and create space to expand the Palletforce network. The company is at the forefront of flexible transport services regionally by road and rail, with a fleet of trucks and trailers capable of all kinds of haulage, with drivers trained in the specific movement of hazardous and approved dangerous goods (ADRs).
