Norfolk County Council has appointed Radis Community Care as their new provider for a local independent living service.
The company will manage the service at Swallowtail Place, an Independent Living housing scheme in the county.
It specialises in overseeing independent living for vulnerable adults and children, employing more than 2,000 staff across the UK.
Swallowtail Place, which offers 58 apartments for people aged 55 and over, opened in 2022 as a shared venture between Saffron Housing Trust and Norfolk County Council.
Amenities include a lounge, garden and activities room, and a café and hairdressing salon – some of which are also open to the community.
Radis Community Care will provide on‑site care and support to residents on a 24/7 basis, working alongside partners and families to ensure that individual needs are met and that residents can continue to live as independently as possible within a supportive environment.
Chris Scott, director of strategic commissioning and market development for Norfolk County Council, said: “We are pleased to announce that Radis Community Care has taken over the care and support services at Swallowtail Place.
“Radis, a reputable provider with a good track record in Norfolk and nationwide, shares our values of dignity, independence and community.
“We are confident that this change will further enhance the safe, caring and supportive environment for everyone at Swallowtail Place.”
Comprised of rented and shared ownership apartments, offering one‑ and two‑bedroom options, the Independent Living scheme is designed to support people with their daily routines.
Amanda Osborne, Interim Head of Independent Living at Saffron Housing Trust, says: “We are delighted to welcome Radis Community Care and have been working in close partnership with them and Norfolk County Council to ensure a smooth transition of services.”
Karen Farrant, regional manager at Radis Community Care, added: “We’re delighted to be the care provider for Swallowtail Place.
“We provide care to several services in Norfolk and are thrilled to be able to continue delivering quality care to the community.
“Our teams are on hand to help residents around the clock, and by doing so, we’re helping them to continue living independently whilst reducing hospital admissions and enabling them to remain safe and at home.”
